My name is Andy and I started working for Warburtons in 1982 as a Van Assistant and progressed to a Multi Drop Delivery Driver in 1985 covering Liverpool.
I love working as part of the team - such a great bunch of friends. And my favourite product is the Orange Fruit Loaf - try it, you won’t want anything else!
Typically I start early - 4am. I load and assemble orders for 32 customers in the Bury area. I know them personally, which makes the job a really sociable one - as we chat about anything from football to the weather. It’s this connection with my customers, being more than just a great range of products - but a person they can identify with and order from that helps sales.
And I think I’m quite good at it! I won Salesman of the Year in 1992 - presented a silver shield by none other than Jonathan Warburton. I’m proof that anyone can be a success here - if you put your heart and mind into the job you can achieve anything!
As a Multi-drop driver, you’ll earn £36,000 a year (or up to £40,000 with London weighting). We’ve checked, and we believe this to be a really good salary. Especially when you include all the other great stuff we offer.
That’s 43 hours a week. Although a typical week can be less than that. And, your afternoons will be your own. On the flip side, you'll be up at the crack of dawn, as your shift will start at 4am.
You’ll work a rotating 5 days including weekends, which will hopefully help you to plan your life around work more easily.
We trust you to pick and load your vehicle with our quality bakery products, before your route for the day is uploaded into your onboard computer – and you’re off!
You’ll get a uniform, a pension and fully funded Driver CPC training. In work hours too, not outside of them.
Our vehicles have state-of the art telematics, sat nav and tracking and the pride we take in their maintenance, reflects the pride we take in our brand and our quality products.
